Before you break my heart in two
Before you make me cry
Tell me why you're making me
Turn to my baby and say 'goodbye'
Before you hurt me any more
Before you make me weep
Tell me why I will now
Have to be alone when I sleep
Please tell me why you're hurting me
Why you're taking my baby away
Please tell me what I did to you
To make you act this way
I kept my baby quiet
I never let her bark
I took her up the road to pee
Even in the dark
So, tell me what I did to you
To make you hurt me so
And tell me why I now have to
Let my baby go
