A HAPPY DAY

Today as i went for a walk
I spotted a lovely sight
A child at play with his little dog
On the lawn in the front of his house

Oh what a lovely sight they made
As they romped and played together
With no worries or threats
As they played tag and fetch

And made me feel glad to be alive
If only we took time to look all around
We would see all the lovely sights

Theres the garden with flowers
And all kinds of things
That you would take such a delight
At the sights and the sounds
In the sky and on the ground
When you go out for walk

SO NEAR TO CHRISTMAS

So very near to christmas
with gifts strewn all around
and if you walk in the woods today
you would see hazlenuts on the ground

So very near to christmas
and i am all alone
i hope with all my heart
that some one come's around

so very near to christmas
and as i listen very hard
is it some one come to wish me
a merry christmas and with a card

so very near to christmas
and hey i am not alone
friends and family are here
and gathered all around

so very near to christmas
oh isnt it such fun
to see my little grandchildren
with thier toys scattered all around.

A RAINBOW

if i could catch a rainbow
i would do it just for you
and share with you its beauty
on the days your feeling blue

if i could build a mountain
you could call your very own
a place to find serenity
a place to be alone

if i could take your troubles
i would toss them in the sea
but all these things i'm finding
are impossible for me

i cannot build a mountain
or catch a rainbow fair
but let me be what i know best
a friend who's always there

auther unknown

the sun came out to play

the sun came out to play today
and my what a change it made
it brighted up the streets today
and the children came out to play

it made you feel light hearted
and jolly well feel good
so to the park with the jayde i trotted
and from the gate way where i stood
i watched her run and play and romp
she was having such fun

after her romp and her run in the park
it was of back home for our tea
and my little jayde looked up and me
and i dont care what any one says
i know she said thank you mum
for a really lovely play

sitting alone

i sit here alone with my little girl
with my head in the clouds
and my mind in a whirl
what do i think of this new year just born
well will it be filled with love
or will there be scorn

if only we could be happy
with the little things in life
and stop being selfish
and enjoy the beauty on offer
that surrounds us each day

dear god up above will you listen to me
and grant me the wishes that i want there to be
world peace for every one
in this world of ours

so please grant the wishes i ask for so bold
and give us this new year thats just been born
filled with love for every one to have and to hold
in the palm of our hands that we offer out to you
on this bright sunny morn

WOODLAND LADY

she looks upon this sacred site
a place that stands so fine
where the woodland stream still whispers
and the freedom all is mine
who is this beautiful lady
the one who silently draws near
as she fills my eyes with her memories
of the things she held so dear
her face portrays such beauty
frozen through time in stone
as we stand together in silence
a timeframe we share alone
she takes away all fear now
as alone in her woodland we stand
where the silence is almost heaven sent
and the night falls upon the land
but who is this woodland lady
with moonlight on her face
who silently watches over
not a leaf moves in the forest
no person remains in sight
just the lady of the woodland
and the stream that flows nearby
i thank her for my time here
and for the silence where iv been
but the memories of this lady
remains with me unseen

halloween

oh no its october 31st
its time for ghosts and ghostly things
time for little children
to paint thier faces
to try and be as scary as can be

with red paint for blood
and big false teeth
to bite you with
oh no they caught me in

so is it " trick or treat " i say
or do i have to pay
with something other than sweets
with mischieviouse little faces
as they go about the local streets

oh to be young with no worries
to be happy and with bright eye's
and to have a mummy that care's
as you have us adults running for sweets
before you make curdling screams
and shout ," hey mrs " is it trick or treat.
